Adirondack State Park (103)
The park covers some 6.1 million acres, a land area about the size of the Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks combined.

Chittenango Falls State Park (19)
Chittenango Falls State park's main feature is the 167 foot water fall which can easily be seen from the bottom or the over look at the top. The park is also home to the endangered Chittenango Ovate Amber Snail (Novisuccinea chittenangoensis). This snail is found no where else in the world so if you are visiting, please DO NOT ENTER the restricted areas of the park.

Irondequoit (8)

Letchworth State park (16)
Letchworth is called by some as the Grand Canyon of the East. It has earned this nickname because of the huge gorge, 600 feet deep in some places, cut through it as the Genesee river makes it's way North to Lake Ontario. The park contains 3 major water falls and numerous others.

Stony Brook State Park (7)
Stony Brook, while not as impressive as nearby Letchworth Park also has three major water falls along with numerous smaller falls and ripples. The Gorge Trail runs right up the floor of the gorge and people play in the falls and ripples.

Taughannock Falls State Park (5)
Taughannock's main cataract of the falls drops 215 ft, that's 33 ft taller than Niagara Falls. As with many areas in this region there are Indian legends that pertain to this water fall and how it got it's name. The most common variation I've heard is that it's name comes from an Indian chief who fell over the falls to his death. The falls can be viewed from and over look(accessible by car) or from the end of a 3/4 mile gorge trail. View Map
